We found ourselves with a nursery full of native trees including, Kauri trees, that needed a home and got in touch with Helen to ask if she wanted some. She was overwhelmed by the donation.
Since that day we have been going back every winter to plant our trees with our international volunteers and we often find ourselves pulling weeds induced by the fire during summer days.
As we found ourselves running out of space to plant our iconic Kauri trees, one of Helen’s neighbor, Tony, whose land had also been affected by the fire, got in touch with us to ask if we needed more space to plant our trees. We were delighted to give him our trees to restore his land.
