Activities

Our activities program is a special highlight of the COLC experience. The amazing variety of activities combined with our unique location is what makes this school so different from any other English Language school you could visit in New Zealand.

The program runs every afternoon and offers lots of hands-on experiences and opportunities to try different things, and at the same time, you can practice the language you have been learning. This is  “Learning by Doing”  where focus is on the meaning and not the form.

Our program includes a great variety of activities and you will get to experience things you have never done before.  Our activity teachers are well-informed about the history and natural values of the area and will answer your questions.  They will keep you safe while they encourage you to try out new things.

This is a wonderful way to see what the Coromandel Peninsula has to offer.  Activities will take you to unique beaches and NZ native bush and you will get to visit places off the tourist track.

Activities range from fishing and boat trips to Confidence Courses and aikido, from squash and wind-surfing to pottery and mosaics.   Download the activities list to see our full range of Activities.

Most of our students try activities at some time during their course and we often hear the comment: “Why didn’t I do activities before now?

It's been a year since I left COLC and came back to korea , but I still miss my 6 month in COLC. I've been keep learning English here and many foreigners who I meet usually ask me where did I learn English.

I think the 6 month in COLC was my turning point.  I took a activity course in COLC and my English improved a lot and faster while I did activities which was everyday new and interesting , and I did them in beautiful environment of whitianga with a lot of friends.  Also, while I was with good homestay family , friendly teachers and various friends. My English improved a lot and I was able to work in a restaurant in a big hotel in NZ .

You could experience their culture in person which helps you learn practical English and you could be in beautiful whitianga with beaches , so I would recommend COLC to you.

I started acknowledging that English isn't boring gramatical stuff, but a way of communicating, making friends, and an opportunity to widen my views.
