The Coromandel Outdoor Language Centre is based in the friendly, safe town of Whitianga, on the gorgeous Coromandel Peninsula.

Due to the sunny, mild climate here, we stay open twelve months a year and continue with our famous activities programme throughout the winter.

where we love "learning by doing"

We teach English as a second Language, but you will learn a lot more than that when you spend time with us. We teach communicative English in a way that makes learning fun. We believe in ‘learning by doing’ and have a fantastic Activity Programme, which stays open all year due to Coromandel’s mild climate.

Average number of students

Our students are adults of all ages, from 16 to 80 years old!

There is often a good mix of nationalities, we seem to be popular for students from Japan, Switzerland, Germany, Spain, Italy, Thailand, France and Saudi Arabia.

On leaving, many students describe life-changing experiences here due to the solid friendships they make with fellow students and staff.

We really are the "COLC Family".

This school is a place you will always want to come back to, not just for the language, but for the friends and experience you made.
